About: David Williams is a jack of all trades in the card playing world. Aside from being an accomplished poker player, Williams is also known as one of the world’s best Magic: The Gathering players. Born in Texas, Williams attended Princeton and Southern Methodist University, completing his economics degree at the latter.
Williams made a splash the 2004 WSOP Main Event where he took second place (losing to Greg Raymer). His second place finish earned him $3.5 million and has gone on to win over $8 million in his career.
2006 was a banner year for Williams. He won his only bracelet to date came after winning the 2006 $1,500 Seven-Card Stud event, and made it to a World Poker Tour final table finishing second. Just a few months later he won the WPT World Championship, and taking the purse of $1.5 million. Since 2006 Williams has become a mainstay both on the poker scene and competing in Magic tournaments around the world.
