Poker hands from Episode 24 -Round 2: Cada vs. Moon

With so much of episode 24 revolving around Joe Cada and Darvin Moon, it’s only fitting that we feature the one hand of the episode where the two go head to head.

Two pros go head-to-head…again.

Two pros go head-to-head…again.

Up until now, the episode had been going Cada’s way, with Darvin not getting too involved in the action. Darvin is the first to get in on the action with 5 3 and raising the price of admission to $200. Cada then joins the hand with Q Q and raises to $700. Darvin calls the $200 and Steve Dannenmann chimes in, “Classic duel.”

The flop is K J J which gives Cada the odds to win, but the two diamonds on the flop gives Darvin hope for a flush. Both men check through and the turn is a 2 , which does give Darvin the flush. Before the action can get to Darvin, Cada checks his cards and checks. Darvin bets $800 and Cada calls. Cada still has out cards as it goes to the river. The river is a 2 which seals the hand for Darvin. Cada checks and Darvin flips over his cards and says, “Flush,” and wins $1,525 .

Cada realizes his queens can’t beat Darvin’s flush.

Dan O’Brien commends Darvin on his hand, “getting a frisky down there with a 3 5 .” Then jokingly adds, “I wouldn’t back down to Joe Cada either.”
